Phoebe turned 13! What a dear and sweet girl she is. It's hard to believe she is 13.

Love this journey of life with this man. Sooo thankful for the ability to be grateful, no matter the circumstances. To see hope, to feel respite, to glean and grow at the foot of my LORD.
Once upon a time I would have read this and said "yeah, but .." Today the LORD is growing me and stretching me to have more patience, more grace, more understanding. And it is well with my soul.
I have seen an end of all perfection: but Thy commandment is exceeding broad.

When our children were little we constantly heard the phrases like terrible twos and impossible threes.

Mathew celebrated his birthday recently! Phoebe made him this very special sign with a sweet message on the flip side. So proud of this man and the tough decisions he has bravely made lately. We have both cleaved to the Lord and prayerfully waited on Him for wisdom and clarity.

It is an early Winter Saturday afternoon. I'm enjoying Bible journalling after some time in the garden with the younger children. The shadows are long, the sun is still warm and the last of the autumn leaves are hanging on by a thread. Slowly they drift one by one to the ground.

Raising young men, Sons of our God and King is a serious business. There is no help from outside our home walls only temptation to them and to us as parents. We chose to homeschool our children, I am still homeschooling today with three more bright minds who long and search this earth for interest, fun and meaning. We never wanted to isolate them but we did believe we were to insulate them against the cold, hard world outside. Insulation laced with truth and love and grace.
How could a child cope in this world without knowing the ultimate truth that they are loved and called to be the chosen of the one true God. Knowledge that was so often too lofty for them to appreciate and put into practice yet day by day yet we continue to uplift them in prayer and instruction.
It has been said:
A strong home culture of faith and love gives strength to resist the powerful draw of a secular world

This weekend we celebrate Budd graduating from our minimum education standard here at home. He will go on yet to College but this weekend will mark the half way mark for us. Three high school graduates and three more to go. God give me the strength and grace and the Love!
Just for fun because, sometimes, you have to just laugh .....

Raising girls, raising young women, raising my grandchildren's mothers, young mens' wives, raising daughters-in-laws for another mother - raising sisters and girlfriends. These are all the titles and more that my three daughters will fulfill in their days to come.
